January 28, 2024Welcome to our January 2024 book club questions for Eye for an Eye by M.J. Arlidge
- Do you believe the likes of Mark Willis et al. deserve a second chance at life, given the gravity of their crimes?
- Do you believe any criminal deserves a second chance? Where do you draw the line?
- Where do you stand on the nature vs. nurture debate? How much of a person’s characteristics is determined by genetics, and how much is down to their upbringing?
- If you discovered the new identity of a serious offender, what would you do with that information? What if they were living next door to you?
- The serious offenders had tragic pasts. Did you feel sorry for any of them?
- Sam’s dad advises him to ‘finally cut the cord (with Emily) once and for all.’ Do you think this was the right advice?
- Do you think motherhood made a difference to the female perpetrators and their chance of staying good? Do you think the author wrote the female characters softer than the male ones? If so, why?
- What did you think of the ending? Were you surprised at who the mole was?
